BL Teaching Tools ("the Application," "we," "us") is an AI-powered educational platform developed by Rios Strategic Solutions for use by authorized school teachers and administrators. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information when you use our application.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Account Information

When you sign in, we collect your name, email address, and profile picture from your Google account. This information is used solely to identify you within the application and manage access control.

2.2 Google Workspace Data

With your explicit consent during sign-in, we request access to the following Google services:

• Google Drive (read-only) — We access your Drive files only when you explicitly choose to attach a file as a resource to a lesson plan or substitute plan. We never browse, index, or store your Drive contents.
• Google Classroom Courses (read-only) — We read your course list so you can import assignment details into lesson plans. We do not modify your courses.
• Google Classroom Coursework (read-only) — We read assignment details (titles, descriptions, due dates, rubrics) when you choose to import a specific assignment. We do not create, modify, or delete coursework.
• Google Classroom Rosters (read-only) — We read class rosters so you can include student lists in substitute plans. We do not modify roster data.

Important: All Google Workspace data access is initiated only by your explicit action (clicking "Import from Classroom," "From Google Drive," etc.). We never access this data in the background or without your direct interaction.

2.3 Generated Content

We store lesson plans, sub plans, and other materials you generate using the application so you can access your history and download materials later.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To authenticate and authorize your access to the application
• To generate AI-powered teaching materials based on your inputs
• To import assignment data from Google Classroom at your request
• To attach resource files from Google Drive at your request
• To display class rosters in substitute plans at your request
• To maintain your generation history for later reference
• To monitor application safety and enforce AI usage policies

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored in a secure, encrypted database. We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption, secure session management, and access controls. Only approved administrators can manage user access.

Google OAuth tokens are stored securely and are used only to make authorized API requests on your behalf. We do not share these tokens with third parties.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal information with third parties. Your data may be processed by AI services (language models) to generate teaching materials — these services process your input prompts but do not retain or learn from your data.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

Your account data and generated materials are retained for as long as your account is active. If your access is revoked by an administrator, your authentication data is removed. You may request deletion of your data by contacting the application administrator.

7. Your Rights

• You can revoke Google access at any time via your Google Account settings
• You can request a copy of your stored data
• You can request deletion of your data
• You can contact the administrator to modify your account

8. Children's Privacy

This application is designed for use by school teachers and administrators, not students under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The companion student AI tutor application has its own privacy policy and safety measures.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
